Liberon Floor Sealer is water, heat and alcohol resistant and being oil based will enhance the natural colour and beauty of old or new timber and parquet flooring.
It will help to protect against stains and scratching and it is also suitable for sealing unvarnished cork surfaces.
Liberon Floor Sealer can be used on its own to achieve a final satin to gloss finish, or as a sealer prior to or with Liberon's range of floor finishing products.
Prepare the floor by sanding if required and remove any previous finishes. Old wax deposits can be taken up with , while varnish can be . Ensure that the surface is clean, dry and free from dust.
Shake the container well and apply a reasonable coat by , . Allow 5-10 minutes for the sealer to absorb and wipe away any excess with a clean lint-free cloth. A minimum of 3 coats is recommended allowing 5 hours drying time between coats. Further coats can be applied if the surface is porous or if a higher sheen is required. Allow 24 hours after the final coat before finishing with or .
Please note that this product will bring out the natural colour of the wood. Wetting the surface will give an indication of the final colour.
Surfaces can be swept, vacuumed or cleaned with a damp cloth. Wipe any spills away immediately. Treat stubborn stains with a mild detergent or lightly sand the affected area and re-apply the floor sealer. If using this sealer as a stand alone finish, floors may need to be re-sealed annually or perhaps more frequently in high traffic areas.
Precautions: Please note that this product is not suitable for use on vinyl or similar floors and it may dissolve bitumen-based adhesives.
Oily cloths may self-combust so should not be left in bundles after use. Lay them flat outside to dry before disposal.
